Why this matters if you sell jewellery
Regulation (EU) 2025/40 on packaging and packaging waste, known as the PPWR, has applied since 12 August 2026 across the European Union. When you hand over a piece of jewellery inside a box or a pouch, you are placing packaging in your customer’s hands, and that packaging has to meet the requirements that are already in force.
Until now, whenever a customer, an adviser or an inspection asked you for packaging documentation, you had to email your supplier and wait. Not any more: it is one click away, at any hour, without asking us.
What the declaration actually says
Each PDF is signed by MY ECOBOXES, S.L.U. and sets out, on a single page:
- Product identification: reference, description, series, colour, external dimensions and materials.
- Country of origin.
- Compliance with Regulation (EU) 2025/40 for the requirements applicable on the date of the document.
- Heavy metals: the sum of lead, cadmium, mercury and hexavalent chromium in the packaging and in each of its components does not exceed 100 mg/kg.
- Substances of concern: presence minimised. PFAS restrictions do not apply, as this packaging is not intended for food contact.
- Conformity assessment by internal production control (Annex VII), with the technical documentation kept for 5 years and available to the authorities.
How to download it
Open any product page and look for the red line "COMPLIANCE WITH REGULATION (EU) 2025/40 PPWR. PRODUCT DECLARATION", just above the price. Clicking it opens the PDF for that reference in the language you are browsing in; you can save it or forward it to whoever asked for it.

What this declaration does not replace
Worth being clear about, because it saves surprises. The declaration covers the packaging we supply, but it does not replace your own obligations: registering and paying extended producer responsibility (EPR) in your country is still yours, as is informing consumers about waste sorting for the product you pack. Nor is it a certificate issued by the European Union: for this type of packaging the Regulation does not require one, it requires exactly this — a declaration under the operator’s own responsibility.
